LAGOS, NIGERIA 鈥 October 23, 2026 鈥 Amplify Africa is launching the inaugural edition of Diaspora Week Lagos, a two-week curated experience connecting the African diaspora with the people, businesses and cultural movements shaping the continent鈥檚 future. Award-winning actress and producer Meagan Good-Majors and award-winning actor Jonathan Majors are among the confirmed guests for the experience, which runs from October 27 to November 9, 2026.

Designed for members of the global diaspora looking to engage with Africa beyond tourism, Diaspora Week Lagos will offer a closer look at Lagos鈥檚 business, technology, fashion, beauty, film and contemporary art ecosystems through curated industry visits, strategic gatherings and cultural experiences.

Diaspora Week Lagos is built around the question, What if your next trip to Africa was about more than just visiting?, and answers with two weeks of culture, business, creativity and connection, aiming to turn diaspora engagement into an opportunity for deeper cultural understanding, professional connections and collaboration.

The programme will unfold across two themed tracks, beginning with fashion, business and technology from October 27 to November 2. Delegates will take part in curated visits to Nigerian fashion and beauty brands Andrea Iyamah, IN Official, Ugo Mozie, and Dabota Beauty, offering opportunities to engage with businesses contributing to the country鈥檚 creative and commercial landscape. The programme will also feature the Africa Prosperity Summit, bringing together investors, fund managers, policymakers and founders shaping capital and business opportunities across Africa. The summit is invite-only. Additional engagements include a site visit to Dangote Refinery, the DWL Style and Beauty Brunch and the DWL Investor Dinner.

From November 4 to November 9, the Film and Art track will turn the focus to Lagos鈥檚 screen and visual arts industries. The programme includes a curated visit to Rele Art Gallery, attendance at the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF) and Art X Lagos, a World Bank x ONE Campaign Breakfast, and a movie screening with Nile Entertainment. Together, the tracks are designed to introduce delegates to the people, institutions and creative enterprises shaping Lagos, while creating opportunities for relationships that can extend beyond the visit.

The experience arrives at a time when Lagos continues to draw international attention for its cultural influence, entrepreneurial activity and creative industries. While the city is widely associated with the year-end return of the diaspora during Detty December, Diaspora Week Lagos offers a different approach: bringing cultural exploration together with industry access, business conversations and opportunities for longer-term engagement.

Diaspora Week Lagos is being organised by Amplify Africa, with participating organisations and partners including Moonshot by TechCabal, AFRIFF, Amanar Group, The Temple Company and MaC Venture Capital.
